“Optimal health is not just the absence of illness, but the presence of health in the mental, emotional, physical, mental and social realms. Some also include financial health.”
Optimal health is essential at all levels, from the individual to the society we live in and the environment around us. We need to start thinking about wealth in terms of owning money and property and in terms of mental, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual well-being.

Mental health
What is mental health? Our emotional, psychological, and social well-being all contribute to our mental health. It influences how we think, feel, and act as we deal with life’s challenges. It also influences how we deal with stress, interact with people, and make decisions. Mental health is essential throughout life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood and aging.
The truth is that the mind is the pioneer of all states.
With the right mindset, the poor can still be happy. On the contrary, if you don’t think right, no matter how many material possessions you have, you can still be a very unhappy person. Thus, Gandhi said, “The world is good enough for everyone’s needs, but not for one person’s desires.”
So a healthy mind has the idea of bringing happiness and satisfaction to ourselves and the world around us. It provides clarity of thought, good perception, and the ability to see things through an unbiased mind.
Being able to see things with an unbiased mind is not a small thing. It is very difficult to notice or observe the development of an event or phenomenon without judgment. We habitually associate emotions and emotions with events, allowing them to guide our actions. What we like about certain things and what we dislike about others is closely related to our feelings.
What is the significance of mental health?
Mental health is important because it can help you to:
- Relief from the stresses of life
- Become physically healthy
- Build good relationships
- Make meaningful contributions to community
- Work productively
- Realize your inner potential
What can I do to enhance my mental health?
You can do a variety of things to improve your mental health, which includes:
- Be Positive: It is critical to attempt to have a happy attitude; some strategies include
Finding a happy medium between positive and negative emotions Staying optimistic does not imply that you never experience unpleasant feelings like sadness or rage. - You must experience them in order to go through challenging situations. They can assist you in responding to an issue. But you don’t want those feelings to take control. It’s not helpful, for example, to keep thinking about bad things that happened in the past or to be overly concerned about the future.
- Express Gratitude: That is, be grateful for the positive things in your life. It’s a good idea to do this every day, either by thinking about it or writing it down in a diary. These might be major things, like the support of loved ones, or small things, like eating a wonderful dinner. Allow yourself a time to relish the fact that you had a pleasant encounter. Practicing thankfulness might help you see your life in a new light. When you are anxious, for example, you may not recognize that you are also experiencing happy feelings. Gratitude can assist you in recognizing them.
- Physical Exercise:
- Being physically active. Exercise can reduce feelings of stress and depression and improve your mood.
- Getting enough sleep: Sleep influences your emotions. If you don’t get enough sleep, you may become more irritable and furious. A lack of adequate sleep might increase your chances of being sad in the long run. As a result, it’s critical to maintain a regular sleep pattern and receive adequate quality sleep every night.
- Healthy eating: Good diet not only makes you feel better physically, but it may also enhance your mood and reduce worry and tension. Furthermore, a lack of certain minerals may lead to various mental diseases. For example, there might be a relationship between low vitamin B12 levels and depression. Eating a well-balanced diet can assist you in getting necessary nutrients.
- Contact Others: Humans are social beings, and having strong, healthy connections with others is essential. Having strong social support may help shield you from the negative effects of stress. It is also beneficial to have a variety of relationships. Aside from engaging with family and friends, you might become engaged in your town or neighborhood. You may, for example, volunteer for a local organization or join a club focused on an activity you like.
- Creating a feeling of meaning and purpose in one’s life. This might be accomplished through your employment, volunteering, acquiring new skills, or pursuing your faith.
- Meditation is a mind-body practice that teaches you how to concentrate your attention and awareness. Mindfulness meditation and transcendental meditation are two of the many types.
- Relaxation techniques are activities that you engage in to elicit your body’s natural relaxation response. This reduces muscle tension and stress by slowing your breathing and lowering your blood pressure.
Emotional health
Our emotions guide us to act impulsively from time to time. Therefore, a high level of self-awareness in this area is very helpful. It is essential to our well-being. After all, things and relationships that we may take years to build can be destroyed in the moment of anger.
There are positive emotions and negative emotions. We need to develop positive emotions such as love, compassion and joy and eradicate negative emotions such as fear, anger and hate.
When asked about this, a wise man from India was once explained in the story:
An old man told his grandson, “Boy, I have two tigers in a cage. One is love and compassion, the other is fear and anger.”
The boy asked, “Grandpa, who will win?”
The old man replied: “What I feed.”
Sometimes we feel that we are out of control of our emotions. Not true. The truth is that how well we manage our emotions depends on how well we perceive our emotions, especially the rise of our feelings. The sooner you notice an emotional surge, the better you can deal with it.
More and more studies show that our well-being is closely related to our emotional and mental health. Positive mental attitudes and emotions generally boost the immune system of our body. Rather, they are depressed by negative mental and emotional states. Therefore, stress, anxiety, anger, and fear are several conditions that can lead to physical illnesses such as high blood pressure, heart disease, peptic ulcer, depression, and many other diseases.
Physical health
Therefore, to maintain optimal physical health, we need to focus on the body, the mind and emotions.
At the physical level, our body can maintain good health through proper sleep and rest, proper nutrition, regular exercise, and a clean and healthy environment.
Mental health
For centuries, we have always been informed and taught by wise men to be spiritual beings.
Medicine could not reveal to us our spiritual nature, but there is a lot of indirect evidence that it is stupid for us to ignore. The story of someone who has experienced a near-death experience (NDE), has become more conscious of a dying person, or has only experienced a cure for an “incurable disease” is that life is more than just a physical condition. Suggests.
The world’s major religions teach everything based on the belief that we are spiritual beings in nature. According to these teachings, our physical existence is secondary.
It may be true that our lives should be focused on mental qualities rather than physical qualities, but at least not immediately. It will be difficult for most people to do so. You can’t change things overnight. But the idea is possible, and it’s probably the best place to get started.
Financial health
But at a more mundane level, most people are still involved in how to survive every day, receive their next check to pay for their home, and so on.
Therefore, in practice, we need to find a way to achieve a financial position that is theoretically free from the constraints of “forced labor.” This is where the concept of economic freedom is very attractive. The idea is that you need to be passive, that is, aim for one or more sources of income, even if you are not working.
This is what Robert Kiyosaki called “passive income.”
According to him, passive income can only be achieved by becoming an investor or business owner, not a sole proprietor or employee. To become an investor or business owner, you need to invest time and money to get financial information. Unlike IQ and EQ, you can self-taught financial details.
Talk to a trusted accountant, banker, or financial planner to get a health check.
Healthy relationship
“People aren’t islands, they’re all done.”
As a doctor, I am unique in confronting and comforting dying patients. One of the most important things I’ve observed is that dying people don’t ask about their money or belongings. Instead, they focus their remaining energy and strength on healing the injured relationship. It’s as if the relationship needs to be closed properly.
Therefore, building and nurturing healthy relationships is important to our well-being. Unfortunately, this is something we often ignore until it’s too late. If forgiveness is needed or forgiven, procrastination can result in an unfulfilled desire for closure.
Now that we know this, should we spend more time and effort improving relationships with loved ones, especially parents, spouses, children and siblings?
